These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative ("ALCSI," "we," "us," or "our") website and the ALCSI Live mobile app (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Informational Purpose Only

The Services are provided for informational, educational, and volunteer-coordination purposes only. Any eligibility checks, screening information, or related content provided through the Services are intended to raise awareness about lung cancer screening guidelines and to help connect individuals with appropriate resources.

2. Not Medical Advice

The Services do not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and are not a substitute for professional medical care. Nothing in the Services should be interpreted as a recommendation regarding any specific course of medical action. Always seek the advice of a physician or other qualified health provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition or screening eligibility.

3. Not a Diagnostic Tool

Any eligibility screener, calculator, or similar feature within the Services is a general informational tool based on publicly available screening guidelines. It is not a diagnostic tool, does not constitute a medical evaluation, and should not be relied upon as a definitive determination of your health status or eligibility for any procedure. Final eligibility for lung cancer screening should be determined by a licensed healthcare provider.

4. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for how you use the Services and any decisions you make based on information obtained through them. This includes decisions related to your own health, decisions made while volunteering on behalf of ALCSI, and any information you choose to share with members of the public during outreach activities.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ALCSI and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages resulting from your use of, or inability to use, the Services, including but not limited to damages for personal injury, loss of data, or loss of goodwill, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. The Services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

6. Acceptable Use

When using the Services, you agree that you will not:

• Use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations
• Misrepresent your identity, role, or affiliation with ALCSI
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information about yourself or others
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or areas of the Services that you are not authorized to access
• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Services
• Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue burden on the Services or the networks connected to them
• Use volunteer or community member information collected through the Services for any purpose outside of ALCSI's mission

7. Volunteer Accounts

Access to volunteer features of ALCSI Live is granted at ALCSI's discretion and may be suspended or terminated at any time, including for violations of these Terms, misuse of the platform, or upon request of the volunteer or chapter leadership.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, branding, graphics, and materials provided through the Services are the property of ALCSI or its licensors and may not be copied, reproduced, or distributed without permission, except as necessary for ALCSI volunteer activities.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Services, legal requirements, or operations. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Services after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
