About ALCSI
The American Lung Cancer Screening Initiative is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to saving lives through early detection. We believe that no one should die from lung cancer that could have been caught early.
Our Mission
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in America, yet fewer than 6% of eligible individuals get screened. When caught early through low-dose CT screening, survival rates jump from 18% to over 90%.
ALCSI works to close this gap by raising awareness that lung cancer screening is safe, effective, and covered by insurance for high-risk individuals.

What We Do
ALCSI operates on three pillars to increase lung cancer screening rates nationwide.
We help high-risk individuals understand that lung cancer screening is safe, effective, and covered by insurance. Through our "Am I Eligible?" tools and community events, we empower people to take control of their health.
Our university chapters bring together medical students and healthcare professionals to conduct community outreach. Volunteers host screening events, distribute educational materials, and connect patients with resources.
We work with mayors, legislators, and health officials to declare "Lung Cancer Awareness Month," pass advocacy bills, and increase public funding for screening programs.
